Around fifty automobiles have been covered with what appears to be human blood in the Germany's municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.

Automobiles, exterior walls and postal boxes were vandalized, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they announced in a official communication.

Law enforcement report they were notified late on Wednesday evening, when a man discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish substance.

The substance had been drawn in the form of a Nazi symbol, they reported.

Officers then located numerous other vandalized automobiles and house walls in the nearby vicinity.

Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under regulations outlawing the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.

Law enforcement state initial examinations show the fluid was most likely human bodily fluid.

"Currently there is no clue as to its origin; authorities are presently not informed of any physical harm in association with the incident," they added.

Local authorities announced they were working "to resolve the mystery" and have appealed to the community for information.

A high-ranking political figure stated the vandalism left him stunned and required to be addressed rapidly.

"This incident hits the very heart of Hanau and revives the pain of the extremist violent incident in 2020," he posted on online, mentioning the killing of nine individuals by a assailant aiming at people of migrant background in five years prior.
